We are seeking to hire candidates for our Data Analyst (3002).

Job Grade: SAM 35

Salary Range: $52,208.00-$65,260.00       

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Responsible for collecting, analyzing, reporting and managing data to support SEPTA Transit Police operations.  To develop reports for tracking, monitoring and archiving Police crime data to assist management in monitoring the quality of services provided.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  1.  Collect, ensure accuracy, and input information for maintenance and analysis of Police operation data. 
  2.  Design, implement, and maintain trend reports for Police data to be utilized as a management tool.
  3.  Upgrade existing databases, trend reports, and operations reports based on new or revised collection methods and programs.
  4.  Compile, analyze data and generate customized reports in response to on-going departmental needs and regulatory requirements.
  5.  Prepare and analyze operations and trend report data for external groups.
  6.  Perform other duties as assigned

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Customized Community Transp/Prog Elig & Reg Compliance   

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years experience in statistical operations analysis, which includes a minimum of two (2) years experience and proficiency in Microsoft Access and MS Excel. Some additional experience in MS Office, Crystal Reporting and/or other comparable software programs required. (Will be tested in Access & Excel).  The Test will be administered during your interview.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education (i.e., two (2) years of related experience, equating to one (1) year of formal post high school education) may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to initiate, coordinate and execute special projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to anticipate, develop, organize, and maintain computerized statistical data.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and data management skills.
