We are seeking to hire candidates for our VEM Warranty Administrator (9034).

Salary Range: $65,936.00-$82,420.00
OVERALL DESCRIPTION
Responsible for administration of the warranty provisions of new vehicle contracts, track and evaluate repairs made to vehicles for processing warranty claims for reimbursement by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s). Identify fleet defect trends in a timely manner through precise monitoring of Vehicle Maintenance Information System (VMIS) work orders. Assist the Management Analyst in developing both short and long-range statistical reports for the operational and budgetary planning and decision-making. This position will also be responsible for providing technical support and direction for engineering activities such as, establishing inspection plans, program/project consulting, statistical methods, audits and other improvement approaches to ensure activities are consistent with SEPTA values and goals.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly responsible for administering VEM’s Warranty Program, providing constant review to maximize benefits of the program.
- Interfacing with Maintenance Garages, Back-Shops, Utility Shops, Finance, Purchasing Departments, and new vehicle OEM’s to perform the duties necessary to achieve maximum effectiveness in monitoring repair of vehicles and components.
- Reviews VMIS maintenance work orders and evaluates to determine the suitability for filing a claim with OEM’s to recover expenses for required repairs.
- Initiates and processes warranty claims to vehicle manufacturers for reimbursement of expenses for parts and labor to repair new vehicles.
- Inputs, organizes and maintains information in SEPTA’s warranty claim WARTS database.
- Ensures continued and accurate filing, record keeping, and updates of all relevant documents under the control of the warranties program.
- General technical knowledge of VEM equipment, vehicles, sub-system(s), parts, and practices used for repairs.
- Develops and implements change to warranty procedures to minimize the rate of claim rejection and maximize the success of the program.
- Issues status reports and journal correspondence crediting warranty reimbursements to the proper management centers.
- Prepares both written and verbal communication to vendors regarding account discrepancies and unresolved warranty issues.
- Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
- Administers bus operation technology systems including AVM, Infotainment, ASAS, Passenger Wi-Fi, analytical systems, program deployment and authentication systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related discipline and a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years experience in Vehicle Equipment Maintenance with an understanding of established maintenance practice, production standards, and inventory management required.
- In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of experience and education (i.e., two (2) years of related experience, equating to one (1) year of formal post high school education) may be considered.
- A working knowledge of SEPTA and VEM Department policies, procedures, and new vehicle contracts; maintain a working understanding of activities in the department required.
- Strong personal computer skills required. Must be proficient in MS software applications; including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Must demonstrate proficiency at an intermediate level for Word and Excel.
- Mainframe applications such as VMIS a must, ASI and Faster helpful with the ability to anticipate, develop, compile, and organize computerized data and other statistical information required.
- Knowledge of accounting and budgeting procedures required. Ability to prepare reports and maintain both written and computer based records.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required to deal effectively with a wide range of individuals at all levels required.
