We are seeking candidates for the position of Utility Vehicle & Equipment Mechanic - 1st Class (0771) in the .    

 

*Starting Pay Rate: $32.99/hour - After 12 Months: $36.66, based on applicable contract.

 

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Is proficient in Pennsylvania state inspection; inspection adjustment, diagnosis, repair and replacement of parts and units of automotive equipment, including hydraulic systems, emission control systems, self-lubricating systems, air and hydraulic brake systems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES

  1. Repairs diesel engines, gas engines, clutches, rear differential systems, electrical equipment and supervisor's cars under the general supervision of the supervisor. 
  2. Diagnoses all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubles.
  3. Determines extent of repair needed, performs state inspections.
  4. Perform preventive maintenance of Authority owned vehicles.
  5. Performs Pennsylvania State Inspections. Determines extent of required repairs.
  6. Maintain/Repair snow fighting equipment.

ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must satisfactorily complete qualifications tests and performance tests as required.
  • Must have experience as an automotive mechanic, with experience repairing engines, transmissions, clutches, etc.
  • Must also have experience on hydraulic systems, emission control systems, self-lubricating systems, air and hydraulic brake systems.
  • Must have valid driver's license. Will be required to obtain CDL Class A license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
  • Will be required to obtain a Class 7 Pennsylvania State Inspection license and Pennsylvania Emissions license.
