We are seeking candidates for the position of Substation Maintainer Trainee (0713) in the .
OVERALL DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, services all traction power equipment, traction power switchgear, switches, transfer switches, distribution panels, alarm system systems, battery chargers and emergency diesel motor alternators.
Compensation Data
Starting Pay Rate for position is $32.99/hr
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Services all traction power equipment in all substations within the jurisdiction of the Substation Maintenance Foreman.
- Services various types of DC traction power switchgear in shops, depots, car houses, remote rooms, and switchgear in Walnut Locust switchgear room. Services AC and DC circuit breaker test fixtures.
- Services automatic transfer switches, auxiliary transfer distribution panels and medium voltage fused or non-fused disconnect switches.
- Services all substation alarm systems.
- Service electrical and manual cranes, as well as, raceways (NEC Article 100), such as conduits, boxes, fittings, wireways, cable trays, etc.
- Services DC battery chargers, and emergency diesel motor alternators.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have a combination of two years experience and / or technical training within an Electrical or Electronics craft.
- Must be able to work from circuit drawings.
- Must be High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must have valid PA driver's license or equivalent.
- Must satisfactorily complete written qualification test as required at SEPTA's Test Center.
- Upon Hire, consistent with Occupational Safety and Health Administration OSHA) respiratory protection standard, this position requires the use of a tight fitting respirator. SEPTA employees required to wear a tight fitting respirator must be clean-shaven and fit-tested.
