The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is the sixth largest transportation system in the United States, with a vast network of fixed route services including bus, subway/elevated, trackless trolley, light rail, and commuter rail serving a 2,200 square mile service region.      

 

We are currently seeking a Senior Capital Project Scheduler - Construction in the Project Control department.

Salary Range: Min: $72,098.00 - Mid: $90,116.00 - Max: $108,134.00 

*Note: Starting salary not to exceed midpoint.

       

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

To perform reviews and analysis of contractor schedule submittals and recommend approval, rejection or corrective actions to the schedule.  Support the Manager, Schedule and Claims in the review and analysis of construction contractor claims.

 

This role is based in our Center City headquarters.  Travel is limited to job sites within SEPTA’s service area.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES

  1. Reviews and recommends acceptance or rejection of Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule submittals for capital construction projects using Oracle P6 project management software.
  2. Reviews baseline cost-loaded schedules’ and recommends acceptance or rejection of value line breakdowns.
  3. Develops and implements construction claims avoidance, mitigation and resolution techniques under supervision of the Manager, Scheduling and Claims.
  4. Reviews time impact analyses for extensions of contract time for delays, change order work, and other third-party claims to support the Manager.
  5. Provides technical support to the Manager during claims negotiations with contractors and consultants.
  6. Reviews and monitors project design schedules and deliverables for contract conformance.
  7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and five years of construction scheduling, project control or related activities.
  • Extensive knowledge of Oracle (Primavera) P6 scheduling software.
  • Excellent analytical, inter-personal and written communication skills required.
  • Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Office required.
