We are seeking candidates for the position of Signals Maintainer Trainee (0765) in our Communications and Signals Departments    

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Those educated and knowledgeable in areas of electrical or electrical-mechanical maintenance are invited to apply for the Signal Trainee Program which is a two- year training program.
The comprehensive training received prepares the student for promotion into a Signal Maintainer position. Signal Trainees/ Maintainers repair, maintain and test signals including cable, electrical and mechanical equipment apparatus on SEPTA City, Suburban and Regional Railroad lines

Compensation Data

-for SEPTA City Transit Division: $34/hr. (Increase to $38/hr. after 12 months)

-for SEPTA Suburban Transit Division: $33/hr. (Increase to $37/hr. after 12 months)

-for SEPTA Regional Railroad Division: $31/hr. (Increase to $33/hr. after 12 months)

(Note, Candidate Division selection will be based on the needs of SEPTA)

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Repair, maintain and test signals including cable, electrical and mechanical equipment apparatus on SEPTA City, Suburban and Regional Railroad lines.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILTIES

  1. Repair, maintain and test signals including cable, electrical and mechanical equipment apparatus on SEPTA City, Suburban and Regional Railroad lines.
  2. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess a minimum of two years in the Electrical or Mechanical/Electrical fields or a Technical school degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical disciplines.
  • Must be knowledgeable in areas of Electrical or Electrical-Mechanical Maintenance.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a car required.
  • Must successfully complete written test in the areas of electricity and electronics.
  • Must be willing to work various hours and shifts, which include weekends and holidays.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

*Note: Candidates will need the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License during Training period.
