The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is the sixth largest transportation system in the United States, with a vast network of fixed route services including bus, subway/elevated, trackless trolley, light rail, and commuter rail serving a 2,200 square mile service region.     


We are currently seeking a Senior Enterprise Administrator (6207) - Operations Applications in the Information Technology department.


SEPTA currently requires all new employees to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination at their pre-employment medical appointment.

Salary Range: Min: $83,954.00 - Mid: $104,936.00 - Max: $125,918.00 

*Note: Starting salary not to exceed midpoint.



This role manages the applications’ of infrastructure equipment’s vendor support relationships; collaborates with business units on application enhancements; leads projects involving application development or infrastructure upgrades; administers employees’ secure access to systems. Installs, updates, and maintains software, applications, or infrastructure systems. Duties focus on working with enterprise applications or infrastructure that SEPTA uses for business operations. These apps include but are not limited to human capital management, global human resources, workforce management, procurement, finance, scheduling, SharePoint Online, or Microsoft Power BI systems. Infrastructure includes but is not limited to network, servers, and storage.


  • The Enterprise Administrator supplies technical support for the application or infrastructure related to the development, implementation, integration, customization, and maintenance of this system.
  • Conducts business requirements’ analyses and data integration studies of associated systems.
  • Designs, develops, implements, oversees, and evaluates activities related to analyses and support of project-related systems.
  • Confers with stakeholders regarding system requirements, problems’ resolutions, and future system enhancements or modifications.
  • Coordinates with Information Technology (IT) department resources and business units’ stakeholders to ensure systems’ compatibilities and alignment with provisioning and security policies; prevents redundancies in application development, system installations, maintenance, data integrity procedures, or disaster recovery plans.
  • Develops reports and forecasts for management planning and information tracking.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems in enterprise application or infrastructure environments. These efforts include, but are not limited to, interfacing with vendor hot-line or on-site support personnel.
  • Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures. Reports any safety concerns, compromises, or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
  • Maintains and enhances technical skills in the areas of systems/support and data processing techniques.
  • Creates and maintains proper documentation for all systems, installations, and processes; establishes standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to be detail oriented, organized, accurate, and able to prioritize tasks independently.
  • Ability to lead, communicate, and present effectively.
  • Provides ongoing production support for existing applications or systems, which requires prompt turnaround time for problem resolutions with minimal downtime. On call 24 x 7.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • The Trapeze Administrator lends technical support related to the development, implementation, integration, customization, and maintenance of applications critical to SEPTA’s Operations division.
  • Possesses an ability to understand and translate transit system operations, resources scheduling, and business processes into application configurations.
  • Participates in Trapeze systems’ development, configuration, or enhancement projects.
  • Maps and designs application interfaces, including the applications’ connections and dependencies.
  • Troubleshoot and help resolve customer application issues or problems in the areas of database, system configurations/setup, product functionality and business enhancements.
  • Keeping customers informed of the status of open cases, providing next steps and anticipated resolution times.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for Trapeze OPS as it relates to system functionality, features, and configuration.
  • Prioritize, balance, multitask competing issues based on impact to end user, customer urgency, and length of outstanding issues.
  • Manage customer issues through effective troubleshooting, listening, problem solving, positive action, information gathering and case escalation in a timely manner when appropriate.
  • Available after-hours for urgent outage/issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address issues faced by their teams and effectively communicate those issues to Trapeze.


  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of Enterprise System Application experience is required.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education, (i.e., two (2) years of related experience, equating to one (1) year of formal post-high school education), may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.
  • A minimum 5 years of diversified, technical experience in information technology and data processing management  experience; (preferred in the transportation industry).
  • Must be proficient with applicable enterprise application software or infrastructure systems, e.g., Trapeze, INFOR Cloud, SAP SuccessFactors, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Power BI, networking, servers, or storage.
  • Working knowledge of transportation operations utilization in information technology is preferred.
  • Experience with bargaining units a plus.
  • Familiarity with Trapeze OPS software strongly preferred.
