We are seeking to hire candidates for our Senior Director - Vehicle Maintenance (7051).

Salary Range: $125,762.00-$157,196.00
OVERALL DESCRIPTION
Directs and coordinates programs and activities at several maintenance locations to achieve optimum use of facilities, vehicles and manpower in providing safe, dependable and efficient maintenance services.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes maintenance goals, rules and programs designed to improve the safety, quality, productivity and efficiency of service to increase customer satisfaction. Work toward their accomplishment through coordination with other locations, divisions and outside agencies.
- Determines adequacy of manpower and employee training to ensure the excellent performance of the fleet.
- Ensures that employees are dealt with fairly and equitably in compliance with labor agreements and Authority policy.
- Prepares data for development of maintenance budget and monitor and control budget expenditures.
- Interprets Authority policy and administrative directives and establish maintenance rules and procedures to implement them.
- Responsible for fulfilling the Authority's mission statement of safety, service and continuous improvement by providing high quality transit service and for exceeding service goals such as: vehicle appearance, customer satisfaction, financial performance, mean distance between failures, etc.
- Enforces safety regulations and implement safety programs.
- Ensures compliance with all pertinent ADA regulations and rules and stay abreast of all regulatory and rule changes.
- Monitors daily activities and the performance of various operational activities. Provide leadership and direction to subordinates to correct and improve problem areas and meet established goals.
- Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
DISCIPLINE RESPONSIBILITIES
Regional Rail
Plan, lead, organize and control all functions of the REE&M Department that impact maintenance of the regional rail fleet.
1. Focus on Quality of Work
a. Develop quality management plan (QMP) and manage quality standards for all Regional Rail Fleet REEM work activities
b. Execute QMP through audits and other focused activities
2. Direct line management in the execution of duties relating to Regional Rail Fleet Maintenance Activities
a. Manage workforce accountability programs
b. Assist with development and execution of training programs
3. Deliver Maintenance Program
a. Manage operations of maintenance facilities through staff and direct actions that program work in a coordinated manner with effective resource utilization
b. Effectively plan work, measure progress and maintain sufficient levels of resources (materials and workforces) to deliver maintenance program
4. KPI Management
a. Measure and meet KPIs for Regional Rail Fleets and work with leaders to strive for improved KPIs
5. Safety Management
a. Identify safety initiatives and work with REEM leaders to implement safety improvements for the work environments for all REEM employees
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Regional Rail
- Bachelor’s Degree and ten (10) years of relevant Bus or Rail Vehicle technical (maintenance, production, engineering or design) experience which includes a minimum of five (5) years proven progressively responsible supervisory maintenance experience required. OR
- An equivalent combination of experience and advanced education (one year of formal education equating to two years of experience) may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.
- Appropriate Technical/Safety Certification/Qualifications/Licenses, as required by SEPTA, State,
- Federal regulations (to be listed on posting as applicable).
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy required.
- Director-level experience required.
