We are seeking candidates for the position of RR Bldgs Millwright Specialist (1150) in the B&B/Bridges & Buildings.
OVERALL DESCRIPTION
As an experienced buildings millwright specialist, inspects, disassembles, repairs and replaces electro-mechanical equipment and makes mechanical and electrical repairs cranes, hoists, vehicle washers, tanks, elevators, escalators, pumps, air compressors, turnstile equipment, overhead doors and other equipment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspects visually, disassembles, cleans, replaces or repairs, reassembles, installs, and tests motors and controls on equipment such as escalators, elevators, air compressors, pumps, cranes, vehicle washers, hoists, overhead doors, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment, steam cleaners, ejectors and passenger control equipment.
- Locates trouble in electro-mechanical equipment and makes complex mechanical and electrical repairs as necessary to maintain safe and proper operation of equipment.
- Inspects, cleans, adjusts, lubricates, and makes repairs as required on motors, motor controls, bearings, packing glands, valves and governors, primes pumps, drains air receivers and after-coolers.
- Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must be high school graduate or equivalent.
- Must successfully complete Qualifications Test and Performance Test as required.
- Must have valid driver's license or equivalent. CDL license will be required at a later date.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of AC and DC industrial equipment and controls, mechanical and electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and controls.
