We are seeking candidates for the position of Manager Engineering (8036) - State of Good Repair in the B&B/Bridges & Buildings.

Job Grade: SAM 42

Starting Salary: $133,900.00

Additional $5,000 salary increase for having a Pennsylvania PE License. 

 

       

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Manages the State of Good Repair group by providing leadership and guidance while overseeing the engineering and construction of large-scale operating and capital improvement projects. State of Good Repair projects include (but not limited to) the following:
1. Market-Frankford Line Painting Project - Comprised of Painting the Entire East end of the Market-Frankford Line.
2. MFL 8th Street Station Structural Repairs and Water Proofing.
3. Chestnut Hill East Bridge Rehabilitation program.
4. Norristown High Speed Line Bridge 12.81 Bridge Rehabilitation Program.
5. Infrastructure Capital Programs.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manages the State of Group Repair group, which includes project management and engineering, technical engineering aspects, clearly defining functions and goals, establishing priorities, assigning work, mobilizing resources, and monitoring progress.
2. Ensures adherence to standards and quality control, supervises the state of good repair engineers, maintains project milestones and checklists, and works with other sections in Engineering and Divisions within the Authority
3. Provide the short and long term planning necessary to maintain and upgrade existing bridges, building facilities, and other programs.
4. Develop feasibility studies and reports, including cost estimates.
5. Develop schematic, preliminary, and final designs, documents, and cost estimates intended for both in-house and 3rd party construction.
6. Review schematic, preliminary, and final designs, documents, and cost estimates prepared by 3rd party consultants. 
7. Provide technical assistance during in-house and 3rd party construction being managed by others.
8. Manage 3rd party designs and construction.
9. Maintain company records regarding the physical facilities and structures.
10. Prioritizes any necessary repairs, reviews repair recommendations, and transmit recommendations directly to the appropriate parties.
11. Performs other duties as assigned/required, including night and weekend work, as projects and emergencies dictate.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and eight (8) years responsible/relatedexperience required. Prior Supervisory or “lead” experience preferred.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Required.
  • PC (MS Office), Auto CAD, Revit, structural engineering software (STAAD Pro, Enercalc, etc) experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
