We are seeking to hire candidates for our Maintenance Manager (2010) - Automotive Mechanical Desk.

Job Grade: SAM 38

Salary Range: $73,164.00-$91,442.00       

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Responsible for effective supervision of automotive maintenance fleet and oversees vehicle monitoring and triage operations.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Monitors active in-service vehicles with minimum direction; triages vehicles to minimize downtime and disruption, and to promote continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  2. Responsible for real time vehicle monitoring utilizing automotive telemetry systems and coordination with locations to increase fleet reliability.
  3. Provides technical support to operators and/or maintenance locations as required.  
  4. Develop reports to document the effectiveness of service failure mitigation efforts.  
  5. Investigation of all service-related disruptions to identify trends and commonality for fleet reliability improvements.
  6. Responsible for providing technical assistance and support in the repair and/or maintenance of equipment or buildings.
  7. Implement Authority practices and policies consistent with “good industrial practice”.
  8. Develop cost effective maintenance practices for implementation throughout operations.
  9. Coordination and dispatch of all automotive recovery assets including service trucks and wreckers.
  10. Assists engineering in various design changes in an effort to improve vehicles and/or buildings and customer service issues.
  11. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and productive environment.
  12. Responsible for instructing, training and testing newly transferred and hired employees.
  13. Ensure fair treatment and equal opportunity for all employees in the section/department.

Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus two (2) years advanced technical training in field of specialization. Three (3) years relevant maintenance experience required.  
  • In lieu of two (2) years technical training, four (4) additional years of relevant maintenance experience may be considered; however, advanced technical training may be required for some positions.
  • Familiar working in a unionized environment.
  • Must possess acceptable attendance, performance and safety records.
  • Valid Driver’s License required (CDL may be required based on discipline).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills required. 
  • Strong computer skills required. Must demonstrate proficiency with MS Office software applications including; Access, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  In addition, experience with vehicle data applications preferred.
