We are seeking to hire candidates for our Inventory Control Specialist (5106).

Salary Range: $52,208.00-$65,260.00       

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Analyze, coordinate and document relevant data and expenditures associated with the Authority- wide core process with external vendors and internal rebuild shops. Support inventory planning and problem resolution with General Accounting and Accounts Payable departments. Document system-wide Inventory Count and Accuracy via coordination with Supply Chain Operations supervision and personnel at 23 locations. Lead and coordinate material rejection procedures for all Parent Storerooms with Engineering QA, Vendors, and Supply Chain and Procurement personnel. Analyze data and produce Key Supply Chain Performance Indicators, for review by Chief Inventory Coordinator and other Supply Chain Managers. Coordinate and execute all Central Distribution Center outbound freight with Operations customers, Supply Chain personnel, material vendors and freight carriers.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Analyzes, coordinates and documents all data and information associated with the SEPTA Core Process, including documentation of receipt, invoice review, aging analysis, liability minimization, and core returns to the vendor. Analyzes and documents performance indicators to maintain visibility of over $1M annually in Authority Core Volumes, with intent to meet intended Core Liability minimization goals and strategies.
  2. Analyzes and documents all relevant material information to support the process of obsolete inventory identification and classification to achieve Inventory Reduction Goals through Asset Recovery sales and procedures.
  3. Analyzes and documents ASI system and spreadsheet data as required to complete activities and transactions necessary for General Accounting and Accounts Payable Department requests. Supports resolution of all ASI discrepancies and issues associated with General Ledger imbalances and open order liabilities, and vendor invoice payment issues and/or discrepancies.
  4. Manages, documents and communicates all aspects of the vehicle battery receipt and return to vendor process. Maintains and updates Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) Master Manual, coordinating with System Safety subject matter expert on a routine basis. Documents and maintains material rejection, returns, and vendor follow up.  Documents and analyzes Inventory count documentation and associated performance indicators.  
  5. Completes Parent Storeroom change documentation and “No Stock” notification recording, and communication to planning groups. Processes stock and non-stock requisitions. Completes ASI system average unit price updates. Inputs and processes payroll in CAPES, and ensures Outlook-based backup information.  Completes SHARE transactions as required.
  6. Completes data analysis and input for key Supply Chain Operations Performance Indicators (I.e., Inventory Accuracy, Rejection Status and Aging, Expedited Material Deliveries, Emergency Transfers). Supports documentation of Inventory Cycle Counts and necessary recounts and adjustments for all 23 Supply Operating locations.
  7. Participates in process planning and system testing with IT as required, developing strategies and reports necessary to improve current processes and ensure 100% fulfillment and compliance.
  8. Coordinates and executes all Central Distribution Center outbound freight with Operations customers, Supply Chain personnel, material vendors and freight carriers.
  9. Participates in all required audits and process evaluation sessions and support preparation of necessary material-related reports and data analysis in response.
  10. Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
     

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma and a minimum five (5) years of relevant experience and responsibility in Warehousing, Receiving, Inventory Control, Materials Management, Procurement or Contract Administration (within the Authority or elsewhere). 

OR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or Business related field with inventory fulfillment and/or MRP system required. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience (i.e., two (2) years of experience, equating to One (1) year of post high-school education) may be considered in lieu of the above requirements. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of material life cycle processes such as cycle counts, shelf life and asset recovery required. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with a wide range of personnel at various levels required.
