We are seeking candidates for the position of Control Center Training Officer (4040) in the Control Center Bus Operations.

Salary Range: Min: $70,668.00 - Mid: $88,348.00 - Max: $106,028.00 

       

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Manages all aspects of the Control Center training and compliance program and develops training material for new and current employees. Trains and tests all new Control Center Managers on the rules and regulations of the Control Center. The most common methods of conducting these types of tests include: 1) visual observation, 2) monitoring of live radio, telephone, 3) monitoring of recorded radio, telephone, 4) develops written tests, examinations, assessments, scenarios for each mode.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the recertification, training, and re-training classes for all current and new employees.
  • Researches and evaluates existing operational policies, practices, and strategies, and provides recommendations on improvements.
  • Consults with SEPTA personnel and outside agencies to research and update department best practices.
  • Researches and utilizes technology to create a more efficient training program and improve departmental functions.
  • Coordinates with other SEPTA Divisions/Departments and outside agencies as required.
  • Updates computer and manual reference files, procedures and schedules.
  • Maintains training and re-certification records for all Control Center Managers.
  • Ensures that all policies, procedures and regulations of the Control Center, the Authority and outside governing agencies are followed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 3 years of transportation training experience.   
  • Two (2) years in a Control Center environment preferred 
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education i.e., (two (2) years of related experience equating to one year of post high school education), may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.
  • Ability to identify training needs by evaluating students’ strengths and weaknesses.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching as a subject matter expert which includes informal and formal feedback to all trainees, is required.
  • Must possess the ability to manage simultaneous responsibilities in a diverse and demanding work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong analytical and well-developed interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must be able to work, day, night, overnight shifts, weekends, and/or Holidays.
  • Proficient PC and Microsoft Office skills necessary for creating and generating reports, required.
  • Must possess acceptable attendance record, performance, and safety record. A review of employees work record will be part of the interview selection process
