OVERALL DESCRIPTION
The Multimedia Content Manager will lead the development and execution of engaging, accessible, and timely multimedia content across external and internal platforms. As part of the Communications Division, this role focuses on producing visually compelling content through videography, photography, editing and producing. The content supports employee engagement, operational updates, organizational culture, and internal and external campaigns with the overall goal of increasing public trust and ridership. This role reports to the Deputy Chief Communications Officer.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, produce, and edit multimedia content (videos, motion graphics, animation, photography, podcasts, etc.) for use on multiple platforms to support organizational announcements, rider engagement, and employee communications, and to inform SEPTA leaders, elected officials, community and advocacy groups and other stakeholders about SEPTA projects and initiatives.
- Serve as SEPTA’s videographer to produce original visual content for a variety of digital platforms, as well as supporting needs for SEPTA board meetings and leadership presentations. Assist in concept development, storyboarding, voice-over recording, sound design, production scheduling and final editing needs.
- Execute live events from concept to completion, managing technical production, logistics, and on-site operations
- Ensure all content aligns with SEPTA’s brand voice, accessibility standards, and strategic goals. Coordinate external requests for SEPTA digital content.
- Build and maintain an organized archive of digital content and assets.
- Identify and maintain a list of supplemental outside resources when needed based on bandwidth limitations.
- Support storytelling that celebrates SEPTA employees, fosters a culture of belonging, and builds morale across departments.
- Collaborate with HR and Safey & Operations to meet training and onboarding digital production needs, and with teams across the organization as needed.
- Track performance of multimedia content, analyze engagement metrics, and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Stay current with trends and best practices in visual storytelling and emerging platforms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, multimedia production or a related field, plus four (4) years of professional related experience creating workflow, managing projects, developing, maintaining and experience in video production platforms required.
- Demonstrated experience working with video production equipment including lighting, microphones, and post-production equipment at an advanced level required.
- Demonstrated experience working with photo, video, and audio editing software including Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Apple Photos, Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Avid, Motion, Protools required. Ability to capture aerial photos and videos using drone technology preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing production scripts, story boards, and voiceover scripts for videos aimed at a variety of audiences.
- Advanced working knowledge of Windows and Macintosh Operating Systems, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint required.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining high production standards under deadline pressures and the ability to handle more than one project at a time required. Must be flexible and willing to cover emergency, weekend, late night, and special event projects as required.
- Must possess outstanding collaboration and communication skills as this role will interface with leaders, peers and external stakeholders.
