We are seeking to hire candidates for our Cleaning Manager (4038).

Salary Range: $63,700.00-$79,612.00       

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Cleaning Manager - VEM

Responsible for the development, implementation, and inspection of all the cleaning processes within the operations division. Performs new hire and annual training for all Maintenance Custodian Drivers (MCD) at their home location. Performs periodic process auditing.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning Manager - VEM

  1. Develops and implements cleaning process for rolling stock, shop, car house and depots.
  2. Evaluates and updates cleaning process based on emerging technologies. Deploys and trains custodians on the use of latest cleaning technology while providing instructions and supervision where necessary.
  3. Coordinates training for both new and incumbent Maintenance Custodians and ensures they’re equipped to perform their role.
  4. As a dotted line supervisor, this role oversees the performance and skill levels of Maintenance Custodian staff, providing guidance where necessary.
  5. Performs efficacy audits on cleaned vehicles. Reports and presents findings as required
  6. Conducts stock management and monthly audits on rolling stocks.
  7. Establishes controls for the distribution and use of materials and equipment.
  8. Ensures that all equipment is in proper working condition.
  9. Manages a program of inspection and response for handling customer and in-house complaints related to vehicle conditions.
  10. Develops cost effective maintenance practices for implementation throughout operations.
  11. Implements safety programs, enforces safety policy and procedures.
  12. Ensures fair treatment and equal opportunity for all employees in the section/department.
  13. Enforces Authority Policies and Labor Agreements.
  14. Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self-and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
     

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Cleaning Manager - VEM

  • High School Diploma, plus 1 - 2 years of experience in custodial services on vehicles and/or in transit stations required.
  • Proficiency in basic computer use required.
  • Valid Driver’s license required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.
  • May be called into work, outside of normal duty hours (7 days a week, 24 hours a day). Must be able to workday or night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with Labor Contracts/SEPTA Rule Books preferred.
  • Must have acceptable attendance, performance, and safety record as measured through established criteria (Internal Candidates).
