We are seeking to hire candidates for our Bus Operator (PT) - TPC (2210).
OVERALL DESCRIPTION
SEPTA's Contract Operations Department, which provides small bus service in West Philadelphia (Lucy), Bensalem (Cornwells Heights RRD Train Station Circular) and Horsham (Horsham Breeze), is seeking individuals who are interested in working part-time as small bus operators.
Please only applicants who wish to work Part-Time at a maximum of 25 hours per week.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hours are flexible and varied, depending on the needs of the service.
- The part-time position averages from 20 to 25 hours of work per week.
- The ideal candidate will be available to work a wide range of hours or is available to work consistently for fixed period of times (i.e. AM shifts or one/two days a week).
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have a valid Driver’s License with the ability to obtain a CDL Class B with passenger and air brake endorsements.
- A minimum of 3 years licensed driving experience.
- Clean driving record in the last 3 years.
- Ability to successfully complete employment interview, employment history verification, criminal background check, and medical examination including drug and alcohol screening.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, split days off, especially during first two years of employment. Required to be available for all shifts.
- Commitment to safety and excellent customer service.
- Candidates without a high school diploma or GED must complete and pass a standardized assessment to qualify for this position.
CDL/CDL Permit Requirements
- If offered the position after interview, candidates will be required to present either a Class B or Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement with no restrictions for driving vehicles with air brakes.
- No CDL or Permit - You will be required to obtain a CDL permit (preferably Class B) before your tentative start date.
