We are seeking to hire candidates for our Bus Operator (PT) - TPC (2210).
OVERALL DESCRIPTION
SEPTA's Contract Operations Department, which provides small bus service in West Philadelphia (Lucy), Bensalem (Cornwells Heights RRD Train Station Circular) and Horsham (Horsham Breeze), is seeking individuals who are interested in working part-time as small bus operators.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hours are flexible and varied, depending on the needs of the service.
- The part-time positions average from 20 to 25 hours of work per week.
- The ideal candidate will be available to work a wide range of hours or is available to work consistently for fixed period of times (i.e. AM shifts or one/two days a week).
ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A CDL Class B Driver's License is preferred for this position.
- You must also possess a high school diploma or GED and have a willingness to work in the challenging field of mass transit.
- The wage rate increases consistently during the first two and a half years, reaching top rate after 30 months (or equivalent time for part-time operators).
- The Contract Services Department also hires a limited number of full-time operators, providing the same service as part-time operators. Part-time operators are given the first opportunity to promote to full-time vacancies.
